This holiday season, Santa is coming with a bag full of blockbuster movies from the much awaited “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” to Avatar 2.

A look at this holiday season’s movie lineup From November to December will surely make you hooked to your movie screens right away. From the returning cast of Black Panther (excluding Chadwick Boseman who died due to cancer 2 years ago), David Cameron’s Avatar: The way of water, to Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. Also included in this season’s hitlist is iconic singer Whitney Houston’s biopic “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, The next couple of months also bring awesome movies by the iconic Steven Spielberg’s coming of age story “The Fabelmans” , an exceptional animated movie “Pinnochio” by the legendary filmmaker Guillermo Del Torro and the awards season favourite Daniel Craig’s “Glass Onion: A Knives Out and Will Smith’s “Emancipation”.

1. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Release Date: Nov 11 in theatres

Cast: Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyongo, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett

Director: Ryan Coogler

Plot: Following the death of the beloved King T’Challa (Late Chadwick Boseman), Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyongo) and M’Baku (Winston Duke) fight to protect their secret kingdom from intervening world powers after the king’s death. The Wakandan’s must strive together to fight for their kingdom when they are forced to deal with a new threat from the king of a hidden undersea nation, Namor (Tenoch Huerta).

2. The Fabelmans

Release Date: Nov 11 in theatres

Cast: Michelle Williams, Gabriel Labelle, Paul Dano

Director: Steven Spielberg

Plot: A coming of age story loosely based on Steven Spielberg’s childhood, young Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel Labelle) falls in love with filmmaking after he watches “The Greatest Show on Earth” while also dealing with his parent’s divorce. Growing up in post World War 2 arizona, Sammy explores and learns the truth of the power of filmmaking. The movie is an ode to film making with a star studded cast and promises to be a landmark of a film, just like other Spielberg’s movies we have seen.

3. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Release Date: Dec. 23 in theatres and on Netflix

Cast: Daniel Craig, Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, Edward Norton

Director: Rian Johnson

Plot: After the huge success of 2019’s Knives Out, Detective Benoit Blanc( Daniel Craig) is trying to peel back the layers in a Rian Johnson whodunit. This adventure takes place in Greece where a tech zillionaire( somewhat like Elon Musk) throws a lavish getaway for his old mates. Later when someone ends up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc tries to put the pieces together to solve this twisting mystery.

4. Avatar: The Way of Water

Release Date: Dec 16 in theatres

Cast: Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet, Sam Worthington

Director: James Cameron

Plot: Following the huge blockbuster success of 2009’s Avatar, the movie is getting a sequel directed by James Cameron. This tells the story of the Sully family Jake(Sam Worthington), Neyitri(Zoe Saldana) and their children who are doing everything to stay together. Despite this, they are forced to leave their home and explore the land of the Metkayina clan in the Pandora oceans. It shows the trials and tribulations they face while fiercely protecting each other.

5. I Wanna Dance with Somebody

Release Date: Dec. 21 in theatres

Cast: Naomi Ackie, Ashton Sanders, Stanley Tucci

Director: Kasi Lemmons

Plot: This is a biographical musical drama based on the life of R&B icon Whitney Houston and this singing icon’s memorable moments from the time when she was discovered by record executive Clive Davis (Stanley Tucci), to earning seven consecutive number one singles becoming the only artist to do so and her tragic personal life which was filled with controversies.

6. Babylon

Release Date: Dec. 23 in theatres

Cast: Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Toby Mcguire

Director: Damien Chazelle

Plot: This American epic drama is set in the 1920s when silent movies were transitioning towards and era of sound and music and traces the rise and fall of multiple characters including an A-list star Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt) and a young and aspiring actress Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie). Diego Calva (Narcos: Mexico fame) stars as Manny torres who works as an assistant trying to understand this world when he meets these characters.
